Reader Reviews Hi Ladies,
Birth is a remarkable effort by two remarkable women and I for one will finally have a decent and definitely comprehensive childbirth book to recommend to the women I care for. I highly recommend it!
Hi Catherine and Sandra,
BIRTH all the way!!! Awesome book...Birth stayed beside my bed and each week i would read what i was up to... it answered any questions that i had... i cant rate it high enough.
Birth is the best by far.
I bought the "Birth" book when I first found out I was pregnant in June and really loved it so much - that is actually how I found this website - I had been posting in an American website at the time - Which I have never been back to by the way. Well worth the money.
I have now read "Birth" from cover to cover and keep going back for references often, and I am only 12 weeks pg! I recommend it to everyone including my OB! Also, I noticed when in Adelaide city yesterday, that it has made the "best sellers" list in Borders bookstore (an international bookstore, no less!). Congratulations again Catherine and Sandra.
Dear Catherine and Sandra,
I have "Birth", as well as two other books, and also borrowed "What to expect..." from a friend (so four books in all - overdoing it a little, huh?). In my opinion Birth is by far the best of all of them, and definitely worth a purchase.
Can't speak highly enough of "Birth" - it is the best by far! My other pregnancy books have not left the bookshelf since I bought "Birth". It is balanced, explains things clearly and well set out. My husband really appreciated the sections in "Birth" that speak to the support person for the labouring woman. Get it, you won't regret it!
Definitely get the Birth book. I've had What to Expect, and another US pregnancy book but they don't measure up to the Birth book. Even my husband was reading through how to be a support and the stages of labour.
I have had 'Birth' since I fell pregnant, and love it, it is my bible! And I am not just saying that because Catherine and Sandra wrote it! It's so informative, and very well written. It also has a great section on preparing yourself for pregnancy. Well worth the purchase.
I can only second what the others have said. The Birth book comes EVERYWHERE with me! I love it. I had it when TTC also and found the information very good. Get it, it is worth its weight in gold.
I totally agree with the others. What to Expect seems to be written purely to frighten women, instead of treating the whole experience as natural and normal. Birth is fantastic.
Hi Catherine and Sandra
I too got my copy of the book yesterday and was reading it all night! I love the format, very easy to find stuff and follow topics. Its very up to date and encompasses a broad range of ideas and decisions. I've recommended it to all my non-pregnant friends already for the future. Thanks :)
Hi Catherine and Sandra,
Hi Cate and Sandra
My copy of the BIRTH book is my bible and have made notes on the pages during each of my pregnancies - it is a great resource and so is this website.
